It is not easy to run a business in South Florida. The last couple of years we had pet sitters who started to work with our company and later decided to start their own companies. Most of them were honest about their intentions and moved to start their own business somewhere else, working to build their own independent client base.
Unfortunately our company has been badly hurt by some dishonest pet sitters whose intentions were different. Setting up a business and spending on advertisement is not easy, so some pet sitters thought that working for our company would give them an opportunity to jump start their own business by letting me get them a client base through my hard work and advertising dollars. If you are a small business owner yourself I don't think I have to say more about this. It is not just a big financial loss spent on marketing and running a business, but there is lot of emotional pain on my part. My husband always tells me not to take it personally, but I love my DogsGoWalking pet sitting business and I strive to do my best to please our clients and pet sitters. It is impossible not to take it personally. Some of our pet sitters felt like family to me and being betrayed by those who are close to you is very painful.
As far as my research has shown me, our pet sitters are the best paid compared to any other pet sitting company, and we try our best to offer an affordable service to our clients. Please do not encourage our pet sitters to charge you less and you pay them in cash. You are not just stealing from our company, but you may offend our honest pet sitters who share stories about such an offer.
